About Rebecca…
Rebecca is a native of Western Kansas. She has worked in the nonprofit sector of Arkansas for over 20 years. Her work as a consultant has included clients in multiple states.
Her love of group facilitation took root at the Heifer Ranch learning center during her time as an education volunteer for Heifer International. From there, she nurtured her skills through offering her talents within her workplaces and her beloved communities
Her approach to facilitation utilizes many well known techniques while adding unique and customized touches. Methods like post-it clustering, mind-mapping, world cafe, think-pair-share, and voting may be interwoven with various prompts and input comparisons. She believes in a process that is visually documented which leads to many walls and windows becoming home to flipcharts and sticky notes.
Viewing facilitation as a way of supporting missional work, Rebecca becomes highly invested in understanding the organization she is serving. Whether it is a multi-day retreat or a one-hour meeting, she believes in establishing a relationship with the participants which is always neutral, trustworthy, and non-judgmental. She experiences great facilitation as an art - multi-layered, thought-provoking, often surprising. It is her goal to craft customized sessions that will move a group through the work or the weeds while strengthening the individuals, the group, and the future of the organization.
Working with churches and nonprofits involves a delicate component of care and sensitivity for the depth of love and connection - and sometimes hurt or trauma - which will be present in unique ways within the participants. These aspects are intentionally navigated during each session.
Rebecca currently resides in Central Arkansas. She loves food - growing it, cooking it, eating it, and fellowshipping around it. Her favorite hobbies include traveling, playing the piano, crocheting, roller skating, beekeeping, and spending time with her children.
